Question about a cold air intake
I have an AEM CAI that I had on my 95 ex coupe. I'm assuming it was made for a later year honda (96-00). It had multiple breather holes, so I ended up just plugging one. Can anyone confirm what year car this was actually made for, as I have a guy who wants it but wants to know if it will fit his 98 Civic DX. As you can see in the one picture I have a black rubber plug in the first hole and have the second connected. Thanks for any help
the d16y7(guy with 98 dx) has an entirely different manifold then the all the other d-series engines so unless he has a head swap/other swap it won't even fit. but if that's not the case then yes you can make it fit very easily.
I'll find out what he has. Thanks for the reply. So would you agree this intake is made for 96-00? The tubing was a very snug fit in my car, it barely made the down turn toward the bumper
That will go right in if he has anything but a d16y7. If he were to add an elbow and/or extension it will go on the Y7 too since that intake has a down draft throttle body.
The plug is where the air temp sensor goes. The original install kit would have come with both the plug and grommet so it could be adapted to one's particular set up or requirements. A street legal '98 will need the grommet.
