"BRAKE" light on during cold weather
Hi all, so I've been having the issue of the "BRAKE" light staying on during cold weather then eventually it goes off as the engine warms up. I haven't checked the fluid in a while, but I will when I get home today from work. So I did some searching and I found a thread on team integra mentioning this issue and someone copied and pasted this Honda TSB:
Brakes - Brake System Lamp Comes ON/Goes Off 03-029
October 17, 2003
Applies To:
1997-01 Integra - ALL
1999-033.2 TL - ALL
2001-03 3.2 CL - ALL
Brake System Indicator Comes On and Goes Off
SYMPTOM
The brake system indicator comes on after a cold start, then goes off after a few minutes of driving.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The master cylinder reservoir filter is not allowing the cap to vent properly, causing the fluid level in the filter to change.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the master cylinder reservoir filter.
PARTS INFORMATION
Master Cylinder Reservoir Filter
/N 46666-S04-J02
Float
/N 46662-S84-999
I am totally forgetful of the smallest details, but I don't recall my Type R having the master cylinder reservoir filter/screen? I check the part numbers given and they seem to be valid part numbers, but when I tried to look up the filter on acuraoemparts it doesn't show one for a 98 Type R. Then I find talk about the float gets saturated and needs to be replaced. I'll probably end up just replacing the cap assembly which seems to come with a new float. I was just kind of confused how the TSB mentions replacing the filter but my Type R doesn't have one. TIA!
EDIT: Maybe I need to add the filter to my BMC reservoir and/replace cap and float? Forgot to mention, I E-brake has already been adjusted last year.

I'll probably order a new cap, I'll have to see how the float goes onto the plastic tube, if its removable, maybe I'll just order the float. When I get home I'm going to check if there is a filter in my BMC reservoir, but I swear I don't remember one being there. lol.
Hey 94rs-turbo, if you have time could you please see if you can confirm the part numbers, Master Cylinder Reservoir Filter P/N 46666-S04-J02 and Float P/N 46662-S84-999 will work for my 98 Type R? Thanks in advance!
