What B series motor is the most powerful?
I'm looking to get a B series motor and am trying to decide what to get.. What is the most powerful b series motor to purchase?? I've been told a b20b DOHC would be nice but then I hear that a b18c5 is better.. What's the difference in the letters and numbers of the motor type? Pretty confusing lol .. Any help would be greatly appreciated
According to this the B18c5, 1.8l VTEC, puts out 197 HP @ 8k rpm (8400 redline). The B20b, 2.0l non-VTEC, 126 hp @ 5400 rpm for the early engine and 147 hp @ 6200 rpm for the later engine.

You really should have a headlight fluid reservoir for this mod.
On a serious note you spent more time making this thread tha you would have googling it. I can think of at least 4 places of the top of my head that has all the info for b series motors and all honda motors listed together.

Actually the b16b would be the most powerful b series, but that's if your looking at hp/liter.
b18c5= 197hp @ 1.8L= 109.4 hp/liter
b16b= 185hp @1.6L= 115.6 hp/liter

I got someone that wants to sell me full swap for $800 .. B20 only has 40k and comes with s80 Gsr tranny and stage 3 clutch.. Ecu.. Etc .. Would it be worth it to do that swap and throw a Gsr head on the b20?? I heard its a pain in the *** to do that but if u pull it off the power is serious!

yes, I was just assuming you'd not poses the know how/tools but if you're doing all that throw some PR3's in there and have a nice 11:5 C/R. I have a b20v 84.5mm with pr3's, tuner 2 cams, bolt on's etc made a nice 238whp tuned on a s300.
My brother is helping me with swap.. I've worked on small engines my whole life. My brother is a master mechanic so it's gonna help me out tramendously.. I'm just making sure I'm getting a good deal.. Eventually id like to boost it as well.. I have been told u can make a b20 very powerful with dumping a lot of money unlike on a k series or F
B series are great and I've had my fair share of them. Most favorite was my b18c, but once you go k you don't go back XD. But good luck with the build b20 is a great motor
