So my Element won't take more than $.30 of gas at a time before the auto-shutoff kicks in, and it's definitely on E. I peek in, and there's some sort of object stuck near the top... I reach in with a magnetic tip and manage to knock it down out of reach. Can't get it with the push-button claw thing, either.

Does anyone have a pic of the Helms manual for removing the filler tube? Is there any reason it wouldn't be a pretty straightforward job?

This was actually pretty straightforward. Turns out someone had stuffed the antenna from our car into the filler tube. It made it nearly to the bottom.
