Icon7 Free Dyno Time in Flint, MI

I'm looking for a car or two in Eastern Michigan (like Flint/Oakland County area) who has a late 90's early 2000's modded Honda who'd like to get some free Dyno time. Local organization is doing a test for a local racing sanction and needs a normally aspirated Honda which has been tricked and tuned. A 2003 Civic SI would be really sweet. Hit me up.. and thank you.

We'll be using the Chassis Dyno at A&A Machine on State Rd.

We are the Vores Compact Touring Series.

The purpose of our test is to confirm reliability and repeatablility of our air intake restrictors.

We are trying to establish a CFM threshold which will bring some parity across all the various makes and models of cars which race with us.

We will baseline the car as you bring it.. that becomes your stock dyno sheet. Then we are going to put some various sized restrictors between the airbox and the throttle body.. to see how it effects hp and torque curves.

What we hope to find is a restrictor which will shave peak HP off the higher hp motors, without effecting output of lower hp cars.

There will be a stock Dodge Neon, a modded Dodge Neon, and a Focus SVT on hand also.

Excellent information. What's the timeline for this, considering that most of the Honda cars that fit your needs in the state have been put away for the winter until Spring.

Our last test session got scratched at last minute due to a power outage from the ice storm..

We are going back tomorrow (TUE at 1pm) and we have an open spot for a normally aspirated Honda, but the more modded the better.

Hmm.. yeah. Awesome idea and thanks, but your average Honda owner here isn't moving a thing until spring unless its their daily driver (more likely a "beater") or they're trailering it to get ready for Honda Challenge or time attack.

Please let me know about this spring, if that's a possibility. Thanks.

It doesn't have to be a "nice" car, a normal everyday car which happens to have an H22 in it or a stock GSR with some small mods is going to work.

For our racing series, we are targeting 145 hp.. so what we are hoping is to have a car at 180hp, 160hp, 130hp in the unrestricted baseline.. then, when we put the first level restrictor on.. we want to see the 180 starve for air.. and fall to 160 or so.. but not effect the 160 or 135 car.. then put the next level restrictor on.. and have it fall to 145/150 level.. effecting the top two, but not the third.. or only marginally effecting the bottom.

That is what we expect to see happen, but data might say something different, and that is what we need to find out.

Very interesting.. In Michigan/Illinois.. I do indeed wish you luck. I hope your apparatus works.
