Honda Accord 2013 bumper cover replacement at factory
Hi,
I need help or advise on my car.
I got an accident and my rear bumper cover got damaged, which would need replacement. I think I will fix it without insurance, and I am wondering if I can fix it by sending the car back to factory? Or, is the body shop the only option?
If body shop is the only option, how can I tell if they replace the bumper with OEM part? Just asking them if they used OEM? As long as I cannot tell if it is OEM or aftermarket part when they lie that it is OEM but it is actually aftermarket, why would they use OEM?

It doesn't matter where you go as long as you make sure they blend the new paint to the old. It's not easy to do with metal to metal parts (think fender to hood/doors) and especially hard with plastic to metal parts (bumper to fenders/hood)
The factory doesn't accept returns. A body shop is your only option unless you do it yourself. Don't know about the 2013's but eBay sells pre-painted bumper covers for older years.
Honda only sells primed bumper covers so the body shop will need to paint-match.
To verify that it is OEM tell them up front that you will want to see a copy of the receipt for the bumper cover. Body shops normally buy from the local dealer. Tell them that they can black out the price as they don't want to share with you the mark-up.
