chain like noise when in gear
My 06 sedan makes this noise that can only be described as the sound of a rotating chain. Happens only when clutch is out in any gear. Car currently has almost 149k on it. Any ideas?
doesn't that get replaced if i put a new clutch kit in it? Because it also shifts rough as hell, no grinding(yet), and often doesnt want to go into first without fighting it sometimes.
No, that part has to be serviced from inside the transaxle. What type of oil and how hard have to been on it. Like Aqua said, a bearing noise is suspect out of gear. The noise may dissipate while in gear because of the load on the bearings.
Do you happen to know if it's an expensive repair? I'm on a SUPER tight budget and can't afford tranny work
can barely afford to fix clutch.

In a shop you will spend a lot of money to have work done like that. It might be time for you to start DIY repairs.
Most clutch jobs run from 500-1000 dollars, add additional charges for tearing down the transaxle and inspecting it. It will add up fast.
