Porting downpipes and manifolds
What are you guys using, I started using some Mac tools metal bits but what are you guys using to polish and what grits I'll post some pics up tomorrow of what am working on
I have just been doing rough porting with a single cut quality carbide at medium RPM.
The markets I am targeting arent typically willing to pay the $ for a fine port.
That being said, I want to get another larger diameter carbide for my work... the one i have works amazing, but the small diameter and short shank make it difficult to get into some spaces.

I use a variety of carbide burrs. it depends mostly on how tight corners are. I will try to use a larger one if I can that has a ball end. if I need i'll go to a radius cone style but keep at least a small ball end. after that i'll use a 180 or 120 grit barrel style flap wheel. 2" is a good size for 3" downpipes. too big for a head flange but you might be able to find smaller diameter ones.
the problem you face going with longer burrs is they chatter a lot more. always try to keep it as short as you can in the grinder.

Or slow the grinder down considerably.... That's how I keep my long shank burrs from whipping around on me.
OP, are you looking to just clean up the pipes or are you after the bling-bling like Toxic Fab?
