Default Changing Rod Bearings

Ok the other night i was driving home from work when i hear this knocking noise from my engine( B18A-vtec) , i drove home asap after i heard it. I had a few friends look at it and our guess is its one of the rod bearigns gone out. Question is how hard is it to change just taking the oil pan off, and how much are the actual beaings?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks

you definitely have to pull the oil pan, but i guess that is all (thinking back on my rebuild). the only thing that might be hard is plastigauging the bearings but i guess you could push the pistons/rods up out of the way to get the plastigauge on the journal.

just rod bearings will run you about $80 or so, but i've seen many different price quotes out there...

just replacing bearings is a short term fix. pull the crank and have it turned and get the right bearings.
