I was driving home the other night and all of a sudden CEL comes on and car is misfiring.

Injector #1 is not firing. Not getting power. I've swapped injectors, plugs, wires.... Then I unplugged injectors 1 by 1 and found its not firing.

Is there a basic ground I can check, ECU connectors? Common wire spots that may cause issues.

I havnt touched the car in any way for this to happen. Everything is stock.

No compression on cyl 1.
Down for the count.

 

Check the valve clearances, primarily in the area of cyl. 1. They may need adjusting. A closed valve will cause a misfire.

 

Its' either a bad injector (clogged or dead), bad wiring, or a bad ECU. Swap the injectors around to see if the problem follows the injector. If it doesn't then it's either wiring of the ECU.

 

I had the same issue you described and a valve adjustment solved it.
