Quick question about a stripped out shifter?
Trying to buy boyfriend a new shift **** for Christmas but the lever/rod(?) has been stripped out by the previous owner, so the **** doesn't screw on. It kind of just sits on it. :b
This is it.

SO, I'm just asking you guys if part #2 of the picture is what I need to buy?

Would appreciate anything you can tell me, and I'll also take other gift ideas! Thanks!

Yes. It looks like a Civic with a Type R shift lever. When you search for parts make sure to use the Type R. The other integra shift levers will be black.

there's a couple different **** options, some have hex screws you put a sleeve over the lever then tighten the hex screws down
if not you have to buy another lever then get your appropriate shift ****

I don't know how much you want to spend, but if it were me I would con sider buying a short shifter like this one. I have the same one in my car and I really like it, makes the shift very crisp.

You'll need number 2 in the diagram, but if the engine has been swapped with with one from an Integra you'll need a shifter for an Integra. The shifter that's in there now is either for a '97 - '01 Integra type R or it's an aftermarket short shifter, stock civic and integra shifters (except Type R) are black.
You also usually want 4, 5, 12, 24 as well as you often can't get the old ones out of the old shifter without destroying them.
