I finally had a solid mechanic (big into tuning but not ricer tuning) have a look at my teg. He said if i want to drop the weight of the teg big time and do the lsv build that i may as well go trade it for an RS as it doesn't have any of these features anyhow and i'd get a 5-speed instead of a stupid auto.

OTH he has a 5-speed 97 SE that has never been modded, is extremely clean on the body and has been extremely well taken care, 180,000km on it, that he'd trade me for. My interior is mint though and his SE's rims suck but is that a terrible idea? i'd just want my drivers seat and rims and i'd trade especially after seeing the car hoisted without the tires on and everything, it has just one tiny rust spot on the body and that's it.

is it really pointless doing an lsv build on an auto? i hate automatics but i also drive in the city and it is a pain because of the hills and constant shifting but i also hate not being able to downshift when i need to so a bit torn in that regard.

any opinions? what car is the better starting point to build on? SE/RS/ or GS? also consider i want a high power to weight ratio in the end.

i'll see what i can do; the trouble is finding one that has not had the living **** beaten out of it if i can get the SE i will cause i'd miss the leather seats too much i think

is it right that on the auto integras that there's already the cut out or w/e you want to call it to bolt in the clutch for a manual swap? i hear the swap isn't bad but you just need a bunch of parts and a transmission that isn't wrecked already which is hard enough to find these days.

i'm working on talkin a guy into a trade for a 5 spd RS as well (unfortunately there are a few mods and it's a bit riced out but it might be okay engine wise) but it's kind of hard to trade an integra for an integra

 

auto to manual or trade it, yes an LSV is pointless on an auto or just get a 2nd car and keep the auto for DD. I'm fine with manual on my DD civic even in downtown Toronto.

 

well if toronto isn't bad then it can't be that bad here except for some of the insane hills. I know in a 95 rx7 it was a pain in the *** to drive in the city and especially stopping on hills but maybe the gear ratio on the teg is better suited for the city? at least better than a 95 twinturbo rx7.

i have an RS lined up but def gotta get it checked out by my new mechanic first. He has a 400whp toyota soarer he has built up so i'll trust his judgment He says it's a better idea to go for the RS as it's already lighter stock but then he'd trade me his 5spd SE and i could just drop the weight on it and still have a decent interior.

Anyone ever try a hydro tranny on a honda/acura? someone is selling theirs and it sounds pretty interesting but not sure if it's practical at all.

It's almost winter though so i'll just take some time to find the best possible car. It's those damn youtube videos of the tegs with 400whp lsv turbo builds that get me thinking too much about throwing a few grand in this thing those cars are FAST off the line for a FWD.

auto GS is a great DD but i already have 2 cars in my name and no more parking space.

do u guys know of any other cars worthy to trade for? i love the old rx7s, 300zx, basically any 80s early 90s japanese sports cars, del sols and preludes are hard to come by but i know of a few 300zx and rx7s i could probably get my hands on. Any gems from honda/acura from that era that aren't well known? CRX maybe?
