A Fisherman's tale. 89 crx si build/restomod
in summer of 2010 i worked my *** off at walmart for 3 months just to make the 2500 i spent on my si. she had 69k on the clock when i got it, had been elderly owned, and was in a minor fender bender before i got it (just a front fender needed to be replaced) anyway, the last year and a half ive been working on boats from alaska to oregon, and i'm actually financially stable enough to build this car the way i want to now.
well, thats my story from 2 years ago, i havent gotten to the parts where i got hit, and fixed it, and hit something else, and got it fixed. but the goal is to keep it clean. she sits at 104k miles now, and has a bit more work done to it. if only i can get my photobucket to work, i'd have alot more pics, and stories. :/
the day i picked it up. interior was all packed in boxes, and the passenger side skirt was missing along with the front bumber. its just a replica kit, prolly wings west.
yea, im trying to figure it out. im not very computer friendly. i'm using photobucket now (started my account today) what do you use? i wanna get these pics up. i have alot of em.

alrighty lol. sorry about that. i'm about to dump hella money in this car, but it would be nice if i can figure out how to use a computer first XD
right on! thanks for the vid. i was close. ANYWAY this is her first moment in my custody. i wanted one since high school, and now i got one! now what? i dont know how to drive stick yet, and i gotta get her home.. TIME TO LEARN ;D
after a few weeks of driving the crx every day (and neglecting my poor accord) i started to notice the little **** wrong with my crx. then i started running on 3 cylinders, and had less power than my neighbors dog towing me on a skateboard. i had some ideas, and it was time to get to the bottom of it.
well i cleaned the engine bay, replaced the plugs, and found the problem! one of the plugs was sitting in a pool of oil, so i went to my nearest shop and picked up some valve cover gaskets.
You should just give me the Rex. Try not to destroy it. The oil is probably a spark plug gasket. The little circular ones, not the big valve cover gasket.
now that she runs, i gotta fix the interior, so im not driving around in a shell with a seat, a cluster, and a shitty ef steering wheel (i purchaced the car from a tuning shop, and before i left the shop, i walked out with an nrg hub, and a momo wheel.)
inter put in the car! (prolly the first time its been together in a decade.) i put on the hub and wheel, i ordered a gauge face off ebay that i liked more than the stock one (haters gonna hate) and my cousin made a shift **** in metal shop for his eg hatch, but i NEEDED that ****, and i wasnt gonna take no for an answer. i also didnt like the plastic on the speaker covers, so i got some tachy spray glue, and some fabric and got to work. :D
the only thing left to do for the resto part was put the front bumper and starboard side skirt on. here she is chillin with my stingray.
at this point i was unemployed, and just iching to mod the crap outta my car. i did some touch up paint in spots, and it looked pretty good til i painted my wheels gold... oh god, why did i do that??? (the gold paint has been removed since then, but more on that later)

i got it home! didnt kill it at all on the way home :D (accidently dumped the clutch at 4.5k at a light, that was fun ;D
got it put back together, and cleaned it up somewhat.
RICE!!! i thought it would be unique and cool, but as soon as the paint was dry, i had realized the horrible act i just committed.
