Took head off should I do any mods
First post here:
I have a bone stock 95 GSR...OEM exhaust, wheels, everything.
It has 195,000 miles and has been great a little leaking oil but otherwise everything works.
I replaced the timing belt earlier this year and then after 10,000 miles it broke. It was an OEM Honda belt. It looks all cracked and dry now I figure it must have sat on a shelf somewhere for 10+ years before I put it in.
Anyway I pulled the head fully expecting bent broken valves piston damage etc...well nothing. There was no valve contact at all.
So now that I got the head off what should I do. The car is bone stock and I don't want to throw a ton of money into it.
I thought maybe a thinner head gasket and I definately want to get a stronger timing belt maybe a Gates Racing? Not sure what to get what do you guys think?

Oem belt is good. Or gates. Just don't get any oil on it. Something in engine oil that eats timing belt and decreases it's life.
And I'd change valve seals for sure and dual valve springs and retainers are always a good idea in case you over rev
