Hey guys,
Hey guys
Got a quick problem. I start my car, put it in first and start driving, but when I try to go for second, it doesn't go. If I slam it in, it'll "go in", but once I start hitting the gas, it just revs and doesn't actually move.
Reverse is also kind of clunky/jerky. I can put it into reverse easy, but when I start moving, and then let off, it feels like the clutch grabs again.
Any one experience in transmissions? Do I need a tranny rebuild?
I can shift into all gears easily when the vehicle is off. I was doing some reason and perhaps my driveshaft/axle isnt in all the way?
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks!

The synchronizer is only one part ofthe problem. In cases this bad the countershaft snap ring bearing is totally destroyed, cage and all, causing the shaft to walk around.
The countershaft will walk towards the passenger side of the car, making the reach for second gear virtually impossible. Any attempt to shift into second will quickly destroy the slider and gear engagement dogs.
Remove the transmission and inspect the bearings for damage. Removing the disassembly plug will most likely reveal the problem.
