Default 91 accord help

i have a friend who has a 91 accord 5 speed. a few months ago the timing belt broke. he replaced and retimed it. now the computer is fried. it acts funny and dies at 5 grand. mechanic has told us the computer is bad. hes wanting to try to sell it for 500. however he told me if its not sold by christmas he will sell it to me for 350. do you thing this is worth trying to fix? or is it a money pit.

If the problem Is the ecu, you can get them at a junkyard for very cheap 25-100$ usually
