Default 99 Accord 250k miles

So I've been mulling over a few options on what to do with my old faithful. As the title states she's got around 250k miles on the engine and around 200 on the tranny (auto). All of the regular maintenance has been kept up, the only think that will eventually need some attention is a rear main seal leak, which doesn't even drip to the pavement, but it's there. The labor to get that replaced will run around $500 which is the same as a used motor (minus install).

Now the question is what would you do if you had $1500 to spend on any repairs, new motors, new car etc.

I figure i have three basic options

1) fix the leak and be done (~$500)

2) get a newer f23a long block (~$1k)

3) sell the car and put the $1500 towards a used car. which by my calculations should leave me with about $3500 to spend on a car. I'm not financing, cash only.

Now I know what I'm leaning towards, but just would like some other peoples opinions/suggestions, after all this is a forum right?

Thanks, for taking the time to read this far if you have.

TL;DR What would you do if you have $1500 to spend on an old *** Accord with a rear main seal leak, but no other problems, and had been immaculately kept up?

All things considered, if the frame isn't rotted out and the tranny isn't slipping, and everything else is solid, I'd put the new block in. My $0.02

Is this 4 cyl? If so, I'd say a 5 speed swap and take car of the rear main while you are there.

having a 5 speed would be more entertaining to drive, but it just seems like more of a headache and expense than just buying a 5 speed or sticking with my auto.
