Timing and Fuel Problems in 99 Accord w/ F-Max kit
Alright.. this car is killing me. I cannot figure out for the life of me what is the problem with this car. If you're not familiar with the f-max kit here is the site: http://www.f-max.com . Alright.. first of all I have a problem with timing. Just listening to the car you can tell its skipping a beat. So there is the igntion or cam timing .. right? the adjustable cam gear is adjusted to 0 ... actually -.25. I just replaced the plugs ... denso iridiums with 32 gap according to F-Max. I dont know what to do with that MSD boost retard box... I just keep it at 0. I'm returning that and splitting hte difference with f-max for the MSD 6L i think its called.. also theyre sending me a new Missing Link b/c it seems to be not functioning right.. the check engine light is still on and i think its having troubling reading hte new fuel map sensor sent iwth the kit... Also the car is burning so rich there is black smoke everywhere... but the idle is messed up .. it idles at like 500 rpms which is not enough.. b/c it keeps dyin on me as i down shift b/c im not hittin the gas... any help on this set up would be appreciated.. anything you can add would be helpful. .thanx
not sure if i missed it but what kind of fuel managment you using? might look at new injectors and other fuel related stuff
I had to raise the idle with the t/b idle adjusting screw w/ my kit.
Dont know about your other issues, I'm not using their fuel setup.
Thier kit has nothing to do with timing at idle (boost retard only happens in boost)

Yea.. i was looking at the idle situation.. I talked to Honda and I believe the screw is right underneat the throttle cables next to the throttle body ..right? how do you get at that screw on the 6G? is it a philips head or do you use a ratchet?
