Default cc stage 2 clutch question.

getting ready to do my 90k service
plugs
wires
timing belt
tensioner
water pump (is this necessary?)
p/s&ac belt.

is there anything else i should absolutely change and what're you opinions on the water pump, I'm leaning towards replacing since i'll be there anyway.

Onto the meat and grits, along w/ my 90k and further my work in progress (i/h/e 2001 gsr) Im not getting much grab in my stock clutch so I was looking at options, I've almost certainly decided on the CC stage 2, just off of a number of which clutch threads an what the community has to say about how they're happy w/ the stiff pedal etc over the exceedy.

while going through the ordering process, I was presented w/ the option for the xtreme plate, or the regular plate. My question is, should I spring the $90.00 for the xtreme, or just go w/ the standard issue for cc stage 2 kit.

I dont have intentions on boost, plan on building the head down the road (3-6months) but nothing crazy healthy build 220whp absolute max (unless my mods and tune work well enough to get more at the time- cams/valvetrain maybe higher comp. pistons)

You'd be perfectly fine with an exedy stage 1

The exedy stage 1 is not worth the money imo, the ONLY thing that makes the exedy "stage one" different from the OE is the pressure plate. It's the same disc I vote CC stage 1(they call it stage 1.5) I just recently installed a CC stage 1 what I had on the car before was an exedy OE stood up to 3 time attack sessions and countless KM's over 2 years and when I pulled it, it looked like it still had lots of life.(it was on a 225whp GSR).

same disc, I was unpacking both the stage one and OEM replacement for a guy who wanted to see them before he bought one just a stiffer/different pressure plate. I've seen it posted around before just wasn't sure till I say them both at the same time. I wish I had taken a pic

x2 Your list of mods doesn't call for a CC Stage 2.

Thanks for the replies, I'm still leaning towards cc over exceedy, I know cc 2 is a bit much, but having used exceedy stage 1 in the past I'm looking for skbething different. I never noticed much pedal difference, not looking for a dump truck. Just looking for something that is a little more stiff, I saw the cc 1.5 anyone else have xp with it?

Yes, replacing your water pump is necessary. If your water pump fails, then your engine will overheat, and who knows what else could go wrong. I would change it asap.

I have a CC stage 2. It was installed when I had a header only. Some people may be against it, but I think it's perfect. There is nothing wrong with it. As long as you're not installing a race clutch with basic bolt ons, then you are good.

If I'm reading that right you totally defeated the purpose of the "stage 2"
