1991 Accord fan stays on
Ok i know i've seen this topic already discussed but it didn't answer my question so i thought i'd ask. My cooling fan runs regardless of temp when the key is off even if i just cycle the key. The timer is working and shuts it off after a while but while following the directions on another post they were saying unplug temp switch b so I tried and the fan kept running so I unplugged temp switch a and it kept running. So even with both unplugged the fan will run for awhile any suggestions on what to check before i start just throwing parts at it?
1. Does your car have A/C? If you have A/C, you may have a short in the wire (Blu/Blk) before the A/C diode or after (Blu wire) the A/C diode going to the radiator fan relay; or a short in the wire (blu wire) going to the radiator fan relay from the ECU. The wire insulation may be melted or partially cut/stripped and touching body metal (ground).
2. If you do not have A/C, it may be a short in the wire (blu wire) going to the radiator fan relay from the ECU. The wire insulation may be melted or partially cut/stripped and touching body metal (ground).
