Icon2 Driver side front wheel making squeaky sound...

About a month ago my 1996 Honda Civic (~150k mi) started to have a very mild squeak sound come from the driver side front wheel when driving. It would stop shortly after driving. I thought maybe it was sticky breaks or something minor.

But over the next couple weeks it got worse. Now, it makes the squealy sound every time I drive. I can even hear it on the highway. It's not terribly horrific sounding, but obviously I know something needs to be done. I even suspect I smell some burning smell when I get out and put my face around the wheel well.

Any ideas on what I could do? I'm no pro.

Maybe the worn brake pad indicator is sounding.

Would that only sound when I depress the brakes? Because this sound is without using the brakes.

Sticking brake caliper I would assume considering you said you smell a little burn smell

Depends on how worn the pads are. Inspect the pads. How old are they?

I believe the last time they were done was at 101k mi, so that means they would be 50k miles.

Gonna inspect them tomorrow. I actually bought pads a while ago, so I might just go ahead and replace them.

Wouldn't hurt to check your bearings either.
