was just wondering what you guys think about using a valve cover that had the baffle removed. has 2 -10an fittings on it, and am also running 2 fittings from the back of the block to a catch can.. buying the valve cover for 10 bucks and he removed the baffle because something fell inside it i guess? any help would be appreciated

10 bucks is pretty cheap.

I still have my baffle, but I had my buddy put more baffles in there, like so.

ship it to me in seattle and I can have the same baffles welded up. I would say $40-50 total, which would include return shipping.

my real concern is if id be able to use the valve cover like that without having issues, he has the baffle as well, so im sure theres a way to put it back on. and thanks for the offer, i can weld aluminum also, just wanted to see if anyone has run the vc without the baffle using the fittings with or without an issue

of course you can run it without the baffle, the stock vent would not be baffled which is the only down fall. If you are not going to use the baffle I highly recommend baffles like mine.

I wouldn't run the cover without the baffle; it's there to serve a purpose. But the only harm would be more oil pushing into the catch can than necessary.

I also wouldn't trust a reinstall baffle. I've seen some use bolts and nuts to reinstall, which is completely ridiculous; the vibrations would most definitely rattle the nuts loose. I suppose redoing the rivets would work but most of the time when removing the baffle the rivet holes are stretched.

the proper way to reinstall the baffle is to use small allen head bolts with threadlock. of course bolts can rattle loose, that's what threadlock was invented for, duh, lol.

as long as threadlock is used, I have never seen one come loose, ever. let alone actually fall out.

Of course you've never "seen" them come loose, they're hidden from sight until the valve cover is removed, duh, lol.

To each their own, I'm sure 9 out of 10 times everything is just fine with thread lock but I wouldn't play the odds.

I had a valve cover that was sandblasted. My tuner suggested removing the baffle in order to clean out all the sand but they recommended not reinstalling it because it would never hold like factory.
