1997 V6, no power to one injector
hey guys, so, I am fairly certain I know what responses I will get from my question but never hurts to ask! So the basic info is I have 1997 V6, (just bought it) Bought it knowing it was missing on one cyl. So, traced it to the cyl on the rear bank, on nearest the pass (not sure if that is #1, #6, or #4)
Anyway, I have good spark, new plug, swapped injectors (injector is good) I checked the connector with a volt-meter and it is dead...dead...dead dead...I swapped the 'injector resistor box' with a junkyard one with the same result. So, I know I need to take all the wrapping off the wiring and trace it to a cut or crimp....but, is there another control module or sorts I may be missing?
Anything else I can easily check? Main relay? .... thanks guys! \

The ground side of the injector is controlled by the Engine Control Module (ECM).
The injector closest to the passenger side (next to the power steering pump) is the No. 1 injector. The ground wire for the No. 1 injector is the brown wire.

on the rear bank - so that is #1 -- cool. ok, so, should I wiggle the wire and see what happens or chances are the ecm is fried? Is the ecm located under the passenger's feet like in my 95 wagon?
thanks guy!

At the No. 1 injector wire harness connector, with the ignition turn to ON, measure voltage at the Red/Black wire (+) and body ground (-). You will be touching the voltmeter's black lead to body/chassis ground.
If there is battery voltage in the above test and that injector is still not working (since you already swapped the injector), then it may be a wiring problem or ECM problem.
The ECM is under the passenger feet area. For the V6, there is a separate TCM (Transmission Control Module) and an ECM under there.
