CD player won't play
I have a 2006 Honda Civic that I just recently purchased and discovered that the CD player won't play . The radio works fine and the CD player will pull the disc in , but it won't play. Tried different discs and none of them are copies . They are all quality discs. I thought maybe there was a separate fuse for the CD player but it does pull the disc into the player , just won't play. Any ideas ? Are these units usually reasonable to repair or does this sound like something that I should just look for a used unit ? Thanks in advance.
No I haven't, do you think it could be something that simple ? The people that I bought the car from lived on a dirt road and there was a lot of dust in the engine compartment so it makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion. What would be the best method ? Is it just a matter of running a cleaning disc or does the unit need cleaned with compressed air before running a cleaning disc to get any heavy dust out ? Thanks again.
The ideal thing would be to take it apart and brush a qtip with some rubbing alcohol on the lens but that is a little difficult since you would need to take it apart.
What I would do is get a can of compressed air and blow it in the cd tray. Once that is done get a cd cleaner and put it in. Let it run and then try to play a cd. If that doesn't work blow a little more compressed air and run the cd cleaner again.
If after all that the cd player is still unfortunately defective and would need replacing...

idea is outstanding the issue is one thing that not enough persons are speaking intelligently about. I am very completely satisfied that.
