Default Aftermarket replacement IACV experiences

I still have to take it off and clean it again, but the resistance on mine shows way out of spec and my Honda is idling about 500 rpms too high.

Just preparing for the possibility of replacing it and wondering if aftermarket IACV's (like eBay ones) are reliable?

By they way, I checked for vacuum leaks, bled coolant and topped off, but no change.

OEM Honda or bust. Junkyards have them everywhere!

Thanks. I'll hit up a junkyard. I think a lot of ebay sellers are also hitting the pick-your-own junkyards, so a good price on ebay might also work. New, at Honda parts counter, is out of the question. I'm still testing, though. There could be something else causing the high idle.

Whenever I go to the junkyard I hit all the Hondas to check ECUs, IAC, easy to grab interior parts, etc... CL or Ebay if I don't keep em. It actually more than pays for the parts I need.

iacv's are the first thing the ese's grab from these cars...you will have no issues with aftermarket iacv's...it's one of the things I won't think twice about buying

I put in a "new" aftermarket IACV before it got dark today and it solved the problem. Now idling right at about 750 rpm where I want it. Before finally getting that replacement in, the idle problem had deteriorated to the rise & fall idle. A week of driving with that was no fun.

I'm disappointed again in OBD1, though. No code set in the computer, despite my multimeter clearly showing that the IACV was bad. Seems like OBD1 was mostly designed to monitor if the part is still there, irregardless of the part functioning properly. However, it did point me to a failed #1 cylinder position sensor some years ago. I guess I just haven't ever forgiven it for not pointing me to the trouble on my most frustrating time ever with my Accord-- the bad O2 sensor a few years ago.
