Default Late 07 DXG Audio problem..

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've posted, but my fiance just purchased a 2007 Civic DX-G everything is stock, including the audio....
The speakers are there...but no sound coming from the front what-so-ever...rear speakers work fine. Tried the fader to the front as well as the balance...NOTHING. Not even static. Anyone have an idea as to where I should even START to troubleshoot the problem?

Cheers. DJ

I did just find a link suggesting it may be water damage...seems to be a problem with the newer models related to automatic car washes, and the water getting trapped instead of draining like their supposed to....maybe I should start by taking the door panel off....and probably water-proofing the connections, providing they still work unless their dead....

I've seen this issue a few times in the past at my dealer, the audio unit is shot, it no longer sends a output to the front speakers.

This happened to a friend of mine... was pretty funny as everything just stopped working except for the rear passenger speaker lol

OP can you confirm that everything is connected properly to the speaker? I know it's sounds dumb but it's worth a check maybe it's loose who knows... If they are then you could very well have an issue with the unit itself.

I din't get to play around with it today, as my fiance was @ work.. however, I may be able to try and take a look soon. We're also in the middle of a move, and things are pretty busy. I'll let you guys here know as soon as I find more info.

Hypothetically speaking,
If i was to hook up a meter to the speakers, (while playing music) there would be no power going to them???? is this correct? Assuming the head unit is the problem. OR is it a problem inside the unit somewhere, and there would be power to the speakers, but no signal/sound.. Im asking because Im trying to figure out how I would go about seeing if it IS the unit, if all the connections look good. (without ripping her "new car" or her "first Honda" apart)

somewhat confused... everything else works fine... am/fm radio, CD, fader, tuner controls, rear speakers.... just nothing to the front.

This sucks... That would be my FIRST problem with a Honda EVER. Other than routine maintenance stuff, I've never had to replace ANYTHING on any one of my cars :/
