94 ex engine code
i have a 94 civic ex and im trying to figure out what d16 it is. the number stamped into the block literally just says d16. no y8 no a1 no nothing. i searched through the threads couldn't quite find it and the link to the VIN number isnt working. i do know its a canadian built model but i wanna know what engine im running. anyone know how to figure it out
ok thats kinda what i figured but yeah its stock. just found it odd that the stamp wasn't finished, its not scratched out or raised or ground or machined down or anything its as smooth as the rest of that part of the block. any explanation maybe? cuz i cant think of one
ok so you are all about to laugh at me. the part i was thinking about is behind my heat shield and its dark so i was about to go back inside and tackle it tomorrow when i saw the tag right next to the tranny and it said z6 after all. lol. i feel uber retarded right now. and yeah i love it i took the belts for the power steering and the ac compressor off and it gives enough difference to puzzle everyone. they dont believe its not stock. i wanna turbo charge it but eveyone does it so im trying to come up with a dif setup. i have a plan for a sequential setup but im thinking id get more bang out of a different motor for that much work what do you guys think.

Hahaha! We have all been there!! lol. If you still have your heat shield you probably don't have I/H/E? In my opinion I'd rather swap to a H series engine and tune it's internals then keep it just like that. For me my Honda will be my DD. I don't want anything to happen because of a turbo and i'm out my DD but again that's just me I'd go all motor.
But If your planing on keeping the Z6 for awhile and don't mind putting some money into it. Go with I/H/E for starters.

im sorry i must be less hip then i thought I/H/E? and yeah i do like having my civic as a DD but i wouldn't be boosting to high on a good build. i had the opportunity to build an H22 but cuz of money and other such nonsense i had to let it go. i wouldn't mind owning a h. i wanna go RWD but i think the S2K looks silly. the only thing i would change about american honda as a whole is the FWD.
Intake, Header, Exhaust. Many DD have turbo's don't get me wrong 5-8 psi would be fine i'm sure. It's just adding a turbo adds more things to go wrong LOL and I don't want some crazy thing to happen and I have to wait a day or so to fix the problem. Some S2k's look awesome too me. others look like crap I guess it depends on the year and model. Yea the hole theory "pushing and pulling" I get told all the time from RWD owners. "RWD pushes the car, FWD pulls the car." It is true that pulling would be harder than pushing. But there's not much we can do lol
ah. yeah no all stock. my wifes car is a 99 accord lx F23 and she's got the one filter and dc headers. and i just wanna drift my corners. i love when my back end pushes me through a turn. and they can be made to look good. theres just something about those civics i guess lol
If you loved me, you'd all sell me your magic cards to me today

IHE is a waste of money on that engine. Save for turbo or a swap. A turbo is fine for dd when done right. Psi means nothing since different turbos will make different amounts of power at the same psi. I would read the FAQs in this section and in the forced induction forum.
has anyone personally done a sequential setup on a honda here? is it worth it? i've been interested in the idea but have only seen them done on v style motors or built for top end car shows
