Default considering a 2nd gen crx.

hey guys,

I am considering a 1990 crx shell that comes with a clean title steering column and interior but has no suspension or steering components (not 100% about that part yet) but anyways I was wondering what people thought the suspension components would cost if I got them from a pick n pull? I want the oem suspension to roll the car around while doing body work painting, undercoating and lizard skin coating the interior. I can get the shell for 50 bucks so I think it should be worth it.

Great deal if it's rust free. You might get lucky at pick n pull, but I have seen less EF cars. You are talking about undercoating, are you in the salt-belt?

The car has a rust just no rot. Sand belt?

If it can be cleaned up, $50 is a good deal. Shoot, $50 is worth it pretty much regardless if it is going to be a project car.

Not you! I meant the other guy you were buying it from. There was another thread on here about a H2B CRX but the guy he was trying to buy it from flaked out.

Definitely take a look at it before you agree to buy it. That is for sure. But for $50, it's worth it in scrap value. If it has rear quarters in good condition, those go for more than $50. But the jump in price seems fishy.

Where is it located?

I'd pay more than $100 for it if it needed less body work than mine does.

A $100 shell seems legit to me. A steering rack from the yard, 4 corner DA disc brakes, new harder lower suspension. All things you would do to a track car, but without the cost of paying for the old stuff.

UPDATE

Guy is really hard to contact about the car most of the time but I have still been doing my research for either this crx or a different project if this falls through. I know I want a 90-91 crx with a b18a1 swap I can get the engine/tranny for 100 bucks from my buddys da project he did a b20 swap in. but anyways onto what I plan on doing in the next couple of days.

I plan to order a paint color similar to this
http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5187/5...d3c271b0_z.jpg
http://autogalleryblog.files.wordpre...012/06/crx.jpg

I also plan to buy lizard skin deadener and some kind of undercoating, nice thing is my moms bf has his own private body and paint shop so ill have a bunch of help in this area.
I also plan to order some suspension stuff
function & form type 1 coils
function & form rear lower control arms
blox racing rear toe links
nuespeed swaybars
polly bushings
skunk2 front camber kit.
integra rotors all around.
I don't really have any plans for the b18a1 swap as of right now, I would honestly be happy getting the engine swapped in and running so I could drive something around again.
