Default I just replaced clutch, engaging?

i just finished bleeding the clutch car is on jack stands axels aren't in yet i cranked car and i could without the clutch put the car in gear what is wrong? the spedometer read a speed i couldnt find neutral, this is my first clutch replacement whats wrong did i install slave cylinder wrong i torqued everything to spec greesd the throut bearing, i just dont know if i did slave cylinder right i pushed clutch in to start it and then i could shift without the clutch

Something is definatly wrong, remove the slave and see if it is putting any pressure on the clutch release fork, if not pull the transmission and find out what you did wrong. 94

run on sentence made this hard to understand....OP when you press the clutch in what happens(when the car is idling) ?

you can always put it in gear when it is off... are you talking about when the car is on and running?

yes the car is on jack stands i started it i may not have the slave cylinder bled all the way, but when i started it the spedometer read 20 mph with my foot not on the gas and i could push the stick into gear without a problem without the clutch but i could not put it in reverse without the clutch tho?

id press the clutch in and nothing would happen really the speedometer still read 20 mph i wonder if the slave isnt pushing on the fork if it has to be on the ground to know for sure/
