Default Help, built pt6262 gsr stopped running today

Hello, the engine is a sleeved 84.5mm gsr with a pt6262 and hondata. While driving in 3rd gear at 7000 rpm and 15 psi the engine stopped. It started back up snd would idle but would go way lean and stutter when revved. Now it wont even idle. The car has a full blow 340 pump and aem rail/frp running e85. The pump primes like normal and the pressure reads normal al the rail while cranking. Please help on what the issue could be. Thank you.

No engine codes, fuel pump makes 80 psi with the return line blocked.

Start with the cel codes (The hondata will list them)
Compression test, check that the injectors have a decent spray pattern an check the spark from the sparkplugs (Dont do the 2last at the same time!)

And go from there..

what about oil pressure?

If the motor just stopped like that without making a single noise or anything, I would think a bearing took a ****...

if you rev the motor, when it tries to come back to idle does it die?

Instead of making a thread on Honda-tech, why not contact your tuner, first and ask his opinion, or engine builder.

You're 100% correct.

Unless the OP can describe in detail what happened when the motor first shut off, like did it make any sounds, start running weird, etc. Then we can't tell much

Also, without a full build sheet for the car and knowing how the motor was built (clearances, mileage on the motor) as well as having him do a compression and leakdown test we don't know where to start.

Does he have an oil pressure gauge? What was it reading at the time of shutdown, what does it read when the motor is restarted.

Was he logging when it died? A log of the event would be the most helpful piece of information... as well as a log of it's current running condition would be helpful, so we can see what has changed before and after the shutdown event

Even though none of us dont know jack **** about his motor, car or build.. there is still some simple steps to start with before flaming the guy completely..

if a light has gone out in your car the first thing to look for is the bulb and then fuse. if none opf the above then you check the harness etc.. the clue is to start just as simple with troubleshooting on his car. a simple roule of thumb. If the engine dont run, the FOUR basic things to start checking is it need to run is compression fuel, air and ignition.. from there you can go in to detail. but give the guy a break. he asks here bc he has faith in this forum and it is probably easier and more convinient to hear a mass of ppls opinion rather than asking one guy.

Thanks for all the negativity. I would like to think that this site is a place where people can come for help and input. The problem has been solved. The screw cam out of the rotor and trashed the cap and rotor.

There is zero negativity in this thread. As you found out the issue was one of a million possibilities. Thankfully your issue was a cheap fix. Good luck.

Common sense really, you live and learn.

Fuel, spark, compression, air, you need those things to run. Should be the bases of everything if the car suddenly dies. You went and found the problem, you learned. THATS what this site is about, you did something. Nobody held your hand... you did it. Good job finding it too.

Had you not found it, and reported back with what you tried or did, then a response would have been warranted.
