The air compressor has been making a "George Jetson space car" noise. I was told that the compressor needs to be replaced. Because of the expense involved and what I was told by a friend I need to know if the compressor has a shear pin that can be removed so the wheel will spin with the serpentine belt without spinning the shaft in the compressor. I could care less about having AC as it is only hot a handful of days. So is there a shear pin that can be removed and can I do it myself?
