Help with which motor to get..
I have a 95 accord ex, motor is done and its about to be pulled. Ive read alot before posting this, what motors wil work? Ive been told only the 94 and 95 f22b1 will work because the wiring differences, how true is this? Ive found alot of non vtec motors (Doesnt bother me to have vtec, just want my car running!) but am being told they will not work because of coil wiring differences etc. Any insight before i break the bank for something that wont work?
Purchase a '94/'95 F22B1 from an importer and install.
Fairly sure you can use a '96/'97 in a '94/'95, you will just not use the CKP sensor on the '96/'97 engine. Just install all your '94/'95 parts on the ''96/'97 engine.

sorry for the late reply.
Here are your options:
f22B1 VTEC *comes stock with the 95 Accord EX*
F22b2 VTEC
F23B2 Non VTEC
F22B DOHC Non-Vtec
H22a1-4 VTEC Must have OBD 1 Harness from Honda Prelude
H23a Non VTEC
H23a1 VTEC Blue Top Must have OBDII Harness
I apologize if I missed 1
Please take into consideration that swapping the H-Series into your 94-97 Accord can be tricky without know-how. In my opinion If you are looking to really make a powerful car, stay with the F-Series and turbo it. If you want a little more N/A (naturally aspirated) power and a daily driver go with the H-Series. Although, the F-series was made for reliability and not to race. I hope this helps!
