Strangest transmission I've ever owned...Please help!!
Been lurking the forums for quite a while but finally encountered a problem that has me absolutely stumped.
I bought a 2001 Honda Civic with the automatic transmission. Knowing full well these transmissions are garbage, I went through with it anyway. I picked up a trans last week and installed it last night.
Everything seemed to go fine and smooth, no problems. I hopped in it today and the "D" was blinking constantly, no matter what gear I put the car in. When I put it in drive, the car was lagging, almost like it didn't want to go, but worked perfectly fine in any other gear, reverse, 2nd, etc, no problems.
I read that it could be the range indicator, so I took the range indicator off the old transmission that I knew worked, and slapped it on this one, it didn't solve the problem at all.
Now all of a sudden I've lost neutral completely, I put the car in neutral and the wheel keeps spinning as if it's in drive. All the other gears still work fine, the car just acts like neutral doesn't even exist.
Anybody encounter something like this before?

Got the neutral problem figured out. For whatever reason, it just wasn't clicking into neutral all the way, it's all good now.
However I'm still having problems with the "D" light blinking. I tried resetting my ECU this morning but unfortunately that didn't help anything.

Wont be able to get the codes read until Monday cause I don't have a scanner. Just wasn't sure if someone else here had heard of a similar issue before.
As soon as I get the codes read I'll post them here.
I'm still driving the car now, I just have to take off in 2nd and work my way up to drive.

Problem solved, without having the codes read.
Stupidity is a wonderful thing, simply forgot all about the plug on the top of the transmission. Went out this morning and plugged it in, and the cars running like a top lol
So let my lack of common sense be a lesson for anyone out there who replaces their auto trans and starts having this problem... DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PLUGS!!! lol

Hi, I have question for you :
My mechanic told me change the engine 2002 Civic 1.7. and I bought a engine form Junk yard 2001 Honda Civic (Standard transmission), and then Mechanic removed Honda Civic 2002 engine 1.7 (Auto). and replace a engine only which I bought from Junk Yard (V-Tec 1.7). When I started the car, the speed of the new engine super.. however, when I shift "D" drive to "R " or "P".... the signal light of "D" all the time on..... and Brake is not working properly, I use the hand brake for brake.. any suggestion ? thanks
