Default DC4 Suspension- Converting to ITR 5 Lug Quick Questions.

Hey guys, long time reader first time poster. I've been doing quite a bit of research lately on suspension set ups and would just like to confirm a few things before I order a bunch of parts. Anyways, I have a 1997 RS Integra. I just recently ordered a 5 lug ITR conversion from HMotorsOnline. Copy and pasted from their site "Kit includes Front and Rear knuckles, trailing arms, calipers, rotors, pads, and e brake cables." I also have 36mm axles as well.

So my question would be:
1) To do an entire ITR suspension swap all I need on top of what I ordered would be the ITR rear LCAs correct? After I have the rear ITR LCAs I can use Type R coilovers?

2) From what I've read I'm a little unclear on this. Are the DC4 front upper and lowers different compared to the R? Would I need to swap out to front upper and/or lowers for the swap or are they identical?

3) This comes back to question 2. When it comes to ordering suspension bushings if I were to order an ITR kit would all the bushings fit if I only replaced the RS rear LCAs for the Type R or do I have to change the fronts as well.

Thanks for the help in advance. I'm starting to get confused as different threads say different things and I'd like to know all in the same spot.

You don't "have" to use ITR LCA's. You can reuse your factory ones. IF you want ITR spec coilovers then you have to use ITR lcas. Otherwise you would just order non-ITR coilovers and use your stock lcas.

Front LCAs are the same for any DC chassis. You don't need to use ITR rear LCAs. You can use regular rear LCAs. Everything just bolts on. If you use ITR rear LCAs...it restricts you to use ITR coilovers.

As far as bushings go, I believe the bushings on the ITR rear trailing arms are different. Besides them, the rear LCA bushings and the shock top hat bushings are different. The ITR has a bushing at the bottom of each rear shock....other integra models do not. Obviously, the sway bar bushings are different. Besides that, it's all the same.

OK, so just to confirm if I were to buy ITR rear LCAs I could use a full ITR bushing set along with a pair of type R coil overs?

Just as if I were to use non ITR LCAs I would have to buy the regular bushings just with ITR rear trailing arm bushings?

And don't use polyurethane bushings.

I'm pretty sure ITR trailing arm bushings are the same as normal integras. Honda does not provide a different part number on the TSB for the ITR.

Why not? I'm looking to stiffen up the suspension and I don't care too much about comfort since I will be tracking it a lot.

They wear out quickly and a polyurethane RTA bushing will prevent articulation of the RTA...making for sketchy handling. The hardrace hard rubber bushings are a much better choice. Just make sure to clock them properly like normal bushings and they'll outlast poly....and you won't notice enough of a difference to justify using polyurethane. For a track only car, I'd use metal or pillowball bushings.

Click the link that I posted. It will back up my claims. I'm not the only polyurethane hater around.

Poly are junk, the will squeak/bind up eventually. Go with Oem or a hardened rubber like HardRace.

I was actually planning on purchasing the Hardrace set from the research I did. I just didn't read the part they were hardened rubber.

Thanks for the help!

I just ordered Function 7 ITR rear LCAs, an ASR subframe brace as well as a complete Hardrace ITR bushing set. This brings up another two questions. Lol

I'm looking at a Beaks bar to top it all off, but the extension kit says all Integras excluding the ITR. I'm wondering if my ITR suspension will not allow me to use this, or if it'll work because I have the DC4 Subframe?

Also I see there's already bushings in the F7 LCAs, would the Hardrace ones be better to replace them with?

F7 arms come with poly bushings. Leave them in until they wear out. You're getting an ASR brace....why get a beaks bar? Braces on top of braces on top of braces? Incase one brace falls off? Dressing your car in layers incase the weather changes?

The beaks bar will work on non-ITR subframes, though, to answer your question.
