Default 89 HF track build/weekend warrior

What's up everyone. I've had a previous build thread when I owned my first CRX. Now years have gone by, and this will be my 4th CRX now. Learned many things over the years. Short term goal I have for this car is to have the suspension and brakes ready for February (beginning of AutoX season). I bought this CRX as a birthday present to myself. I hated to see my last one go. Paid 1200. Which I think was a decent price considering the condition of this one.

11-08-13
- 3rd owner
- clean title never wrecked
- all original body panels
- 300k
- unmolested
- maintenance records from 1989-present
- working ac/heat

now onto the progress:

11-09-13
- installed hardrace rear lower control arms
- upgraded to Integra rear disc
- changed brake lines to goodridge SS lines

What part of Carolina is South Africa in? :D

Great to see another EF getting ready for auto-x/road racing. Lets see some pictures!

On another note, if you really are in the carolinas, I may try to get a group of EFs out to the dragon(and surrounding areas) for a weekend to have some fun. Let me know if you would be interested!

Replace the shock absorbers for the rear glass! Looks like the underside is showing it's age. Any issues with it aside from the mid-range mileage?

they will be replaced. I had a spare set from my 88 but I guess between the years they differ. Under carriage is decent, bought from a guy who lived on a dirt road. That will probably explain the brownish color. Not really, common rust on drivers side rear quarter panel. Maybe the size of a penny. I'm gonna reweld the exhaust pipe after the muffler. That's rusted through. Oil light comes on after its warmed and I've drove it for 10 minutes, so oil pump & oil pressure switch will be change soon. And a check engine light for code 12 (egr lift) which doesn't bother me but will fixed soon. But other than that it runs great. Normal tune up will be done soon also

Nice. Just keeping it stock motor wise? Seems like a nice daily as is.

I've got a poormans type r to swap in it, but that will be probably late next year. (gotta build it first lol. I've got a 2004 accord v6 coupe as my daily. This just sits at home.

J-series power right there. The poormans type R is fine. You can swap the cams to GSR or something if you find someone who swapped to ITR or aftermarket and get away pretty cheap.

I was shooting for some skunk 2 pro series cams. Either stage 1 or stage 2.

I found this pretty awesome when I purchased this crx. Original window stickers, maintence records beyond maintence records. Warranty and service manual

Can't read the MPG from the factory but that is pretty nice. Mine still had the manual in the glove box when I got it. not in that good of condition, but it wasn't bad.

Why delete the climate control? You don't have heat? I kept my heat despite not having AC.

climate control was broke. It blows air. I'm gonna put one back when I get time to do my jumper harness for the accord climate control

Very nice. I am a big fan of LED backlit control panels. They look very nice as a final product. Just incase you want to modify it a little bit more.

Just a word of caution on the Ebay camber arms. Mine had 6000 miles on them and they were completely shot. They both had extremely excessive slop in the ball joint. They were probably too worn out well before 6000 miles. And mine was a DD, no track time.

I was thinking when mine blew out, I was gonna buy the skunk 2 ball joints and replace them

I dont think the S2 ball joints will work on the EF style ebay arms. I know you can do that with the EG/EK/DC ebay arms, but you should double check on the EF ones.
