Default What motor swap should I do?

I'm looking to get a civic sedan soon, and I'm wondering what motor swap would be the best. It will be a DD. Budget is $2500 for motor/tranny/components. I am also planning to boost whatever motor i get. What do you think is the best choice?

Let me rephrase. I'm planning to boost it whenever I can afford it AFTER the swap.

Haha, okay good. Well, if you plan on boosting, then you'd want to have a semi-built motor, to be able to withstand the boost. I mean, I've heard lots of people who run a turbo on stock internals. I suppose you could running low boost. But anything more is pushing it. I've heard good things about b18's, so maybe that's a good possibility.

Not to bust on your thread, but you should probably do some research as opposed to just asking what is the best. Nobody here knows your power goals, mechanical aptitude, etc. I love D and B series motors, some people love K series motors. Everybody has a different opinion. It all boils down to what YOU want.

if youre going to boost a gsr will suffice. i ran a stock gsr (w/ arp head studs) and greddy t-kit. went mid 12s... if i had lsd. i couldve possibly been faster

How much boost is being run is irrelevant, power is what matters. Stock motors can handle more power but research how much.

OP, set a power goal and a budget, figure which motor will work best for your goals and read read read. Start reading the FAQ in this forum about swaps and what options are out there. Once you have done that then head over to the forced induction forum and read those FAQs twice.

At that point you should have some real technical questions to ask on here.
