Will a rack n pinion from a dx ef hatch fit ef dx crx?
I have a 91 crx dx and the rack n pinion took a dump. Its hard to find a crx around my area at the junk yard but seen a lot of the hatchbacks and i was thinking maybe they might work but i wanted to see if anyone has done it before on here just to make sure before i go out and pull that rack. I've searched if these parts were the same or compatible but I've only seen people writing about how they converted from crx si to hf or dx rack for better steering response and nothing that really answered my question. thanks in advance
4dr, 3dr and crx manual racks are the same, to equivalent models.
civic DX/LX/STD = CRX DX/Hf
civic Si = CRX Si
the STD/DX/HF rack has 18.6:1 ratio with 3.8 lock to lock. (faster overall than Si)
the variable Si rack has 19.8(18-20.4):1. its nominally 19.8:1 but varies from (18-20.4):1 with 4.1 lock to lock. (faster at the ends, but slower in the middle than DX)
also the power rack ratio is 17.7:1 with 3.65 lock to lock. (fastest of all, needs subframe from power steering sedan)

thanks for the replies you guys. now i have more confident that i wont fall into any type of trouble installing
