Default Is that sound deadening under the carpet?

While removing the interior of my eg sedan, I noticed what looked to be factory sound deadening. It was flaking up pretty bad so I removed all of it. What can I replace them with and what the heck is the name so I can Google efficiently.

Be careful in spraying undercarrige stuff in there. you want stuff that actually adheres and doesnt crack or fall apart when stepped on.
I believe 3M makes a good one.

Make all the grommets are in place before you put anything down. Nothing worse than getting water under there after adhering sound deadening materials.

Dynamat is overpriced for what you get. There are plenty of better sound deadening options out there. Do some research.

Dynamat is on the same caliber as rockford fosgate stuff IMO, over priced, great marketed garbage.

3m is the way to go IMO, just be sure to do all of your research now.

The floor pan is looking great. Everything is where it should be and no rust! I'm going to give it some fresh paint and then cover it with some deadener of some sort. Seems 3M gets high praise so I'll check into that.
