I just purchased a 91 crx with a gsr swap equipped with spray. The guy says he built it to handle almost anything. This winter, I plan to rip the engine out and see what all he has done, build it, and drop it back in for spring. I have done a lot of research and everyone seems to have their own recipe of parts to make their engines reliable and put out the horsepower they desire. Now, if he doesn't have it built like he says it is, what concoction of aftermarket and OEM parts give me a reliable engine and still put out a safe max horsepower? I know people don't want to share their secrets but if your willing, it would really help me a lot.

Dont fix it if it aint broke. Why pull it out? What did he say is done to it

 

Eagle rods, JE pistons, aftermarket cams, Titanium valve springs and ratainers.

one cylinder has a stuck ring so I'm going to replace the rings while I'm at it.

what scares me is I'm from Wisconsin, I bought the car from new jersey. I had someone else go get the car he and told the guy I wanted receipts of the things he got but he never gave them to me. I called him up and told him to email me them but he never did it so...Who knows if that engine is even built?

 

I wouldn't worry about anything til you get it apart and see what you have on your hands. How do you know there is a stuck ring?
