Should i save up for a motor swap or work on my b16 a little bit ??

Default Should i save up for a motor swap or work on my b16 a little bit ??

Got a 00 civic Si and I'm currently saving up to do things to my b16. Not sure if I should save up to buy parts for it (eg. Clutch, intake mani, TB, fuel rail, fuel reg, header, etcetera) or save up for a motor swap like a b18c type r or a k20-k24. Not really sure what I should do. Your input would be appreciated,

If you have a stock si I would def stick with the b16. IMO there is no reason at all to swap a b18 in there. K20/24 I can see if you want to spend the money. But the money you would put into swap a k-series you could build a killer b16 especially since you already have one in there stock.

It's so hard to decide man. This motor has a lot of miles on it and who knows what the previous owners did to it. Thx tho bro. I heard a lot of good things about the b16

if youre gonna boost it then youre gonna rebuild it....sooo save them pennies for that.

U got it boss. Now with that being said that will give the engine more mileage and run longer considering that ur rebuilding it with new and better parts correct, rather than the oem parts which probably have been beaten to shyt?

knowing your plan to boost dont waste money on parts youre going to have to replace anyway ie. headers intake etc.

I gotta replace my header it's beat to shyt and it has a hole on the bottom :/

Im a big b16 guy. I love how they just love to breath in gobs of air at higher rpms.

I had a b16a2
Pnp
Blox intake manifold
Ctr cams
Itr pistons
Rc330
Tuned on s200

It was tons of fun. Would walk on gsrs

That's dope man. Yea I really enjoy my b16. The b16 tranny is much better than GSRs tranny I find. It's quicker to get up there. How were the ctr cams I heard bout them. They're popular from what I've seen

I couldnt give you comparison dyno sheets from cam to cam. But the car was pretty quick for a 1.6
Also had a rmf header

It's torque-less boost it or swap it out. a proper k swap will run you 6-7k+.

Something that's underrated imo is a properly built B20V I have one being pieced together for my integra for spring(84.5mm 11:5:1 C/R) and by properly built i'm talking aftermarket piston/rods and rod bolt etc.

Nice. I was on a get an rmf but they run low and I don't want a header that runs low. So instead I'm gonna get the plm toda style header.

Yea I heard it's torque less but I mean idk well see what happens I wanted to boost it anyway keep my em1 stock. Lot is em1s don't have they're b16 anymore

I agree with you, I just got a 88 crx si, I have no plans on modifying anything, you can always pick up a dx etc and do whatever you please

if you really wanted to you could bore it out or machine a lil off the top. go custom. still keep the same motor,be original, and still have fun with the process

I'm a little new to the whole honda game/lifestyle. I'm not a complete newb but some things I just don't know. Yes u can laugh at me all u want but u gotta start somewhere u know. What exactly do u mean bore it out and machine a little off the top? I wanna learn
