COngratulations to all involved!
I regret having to miss the race itself but it was fun getting his car set up during practice and qualifying. Regardless of how he did on Sunday the very fact that he could build a car a week before the race, drive up from Florida, qualify (having never really driven the course before) and make a respectable showing impresses the hell out of me.
Did you guys ever figure out the oil burning issue?
Mike Broderick (the other guy from DC

thats your name 92sleepR..... haha, i was looking up 92sleeper for ever to make sure it was you. damn i was sooo close yet so far. but yah it was a fun race, i dont think we figured the burning oil problem.
i didn't notice any oil burning during or after the race. maybe it just fixed itself
however, blake had another problem he was more concerned about which was getting his car started on the grid after they kill the engines. he had to push start it on the pre-grid, and actually ended up leaving it running on the grid. i guess mufflers do come in handy...

If you looked at the rats nest behind the dash that passes for wiring on his car that might explain the starting problem
I don't think the slight back pressure of the muffler would make any diference. I'm just glad that we qualified and that the car ran.
Having spent a little time at a 'real' race has really put the bug into my head to build an all out race civic myself. I spent a lot of time lurking around the RealTime tent and a few other fast integras to see how they were setup. It was great just to be there.

left front actually..... dont ask us how it went
) come through Nascar Bend at such a bizaare angle that we thought something had broken. The subsequent lap was the pit stop (I think, or he had an off - this was around middle of the race after the FCY). I was just wondering when I asked about the right rear if maybe he had corded it. After that pit (or long lap) the car looked fine through there.

HA HA HA. ROTFLMAO!!
The Tech guys at weigh in asked us if the car doubled as a pizza delivery vehicle! I nearly wet myself. Its actually an air scoop. Blake races the civic in rally as well.

Willard just told me that they rigged up a catch can for the PCV breather out of an empty can of Red Bull and some spare vacuum hose I had bought that morning
Ghetto, no budget racing at its finest
. I hope someone got a picture of that.
It was truely a great weekend and a ton of fun. I wish I had stayed but I just had to get back to DC by sunday morning.
