auto trans. shifting hard -94 accord
If it is the incorrect fluid it may cause for a harsh shift in general not just a particular gear. Is it really a harsh shift or is it more unexpected/not correctly timed?
it isnt really unexpected i could predict when it will shift harsh, idk what fluid i currently has but i will do the drain n fill cycle with the correct fluid to see if that helps.
If in gear the car vibrates then the rear mount is no longer working hydraulically.
If in gear there is no vibration, turn the engine off and see if you can rock the engine/transmission by the oil pan, if you can rotate the engine by hand the rear mount is most likely out of spec or broken.
But before going through the endeavor of replacing the rear mount, make sure the throttle valve cable from the transmission to the throttle body is correctly adjusted. It should have no slack but not be pulling up the lever on the transmission. Only when the throttle blade begins to open should the lever begin to move. Two open end 12mm wrenches make it easier to adjust. While doing that check that the throttle cable(go pedal) to the throttle body also has the slack removed.
