Need to know if a remanufactured y8 head will work with my y7 engine? if so does anyone know a good place in or around Orange county or online with good prices and a decent warranty? If the y8 won't work then the y7 I guess would be good to. Thanks for the help everyone

 

it will work, its called a mini me swap

 

Will it throw any CEL codes? Would any modifications be required? Would it mess with hp or torque?

 

It will gain you a little more power because it has a lost motion assembly.

Essentially, the y7 and y8 have identical heads, just the y8 has one extra part that allows a more effective VTEC. Oh and the cam is slightly different to work with the lost motion assembly.

Putting the y8 head on is an upgrade and preferred.
