I have a 95 ex accord 2.2 vtec. I seafoamed the engine ,then the smoke started. sometimes I have a cloud of white smoke sometimes I don't. I changed the valve seals but still have smoke sometimes. so im thinking rings. so im not sinking anymore cash in this engine. I was wondering if a later model engine will fit or what will fit besides the 2.2 vtec?

 

Why did you seafoam the engine ? Have you ran a compression test ? What are the results ?

 

I seafoamed because of the car having 220k miles and seened to be a little sluggish. have a intake gasket leak and planned on repairing it today if it warms up. also replaced valve seals and still have smoke issue. smokes only on cold starts and after sits for 6 or so hours. I will do a comp test today while doing the intake gasket. I really don't want to tear into this eng to do a rebuild. I shouldn't have to do this with only 220k miles on it. car runs really well but gas mileage has decreased because of intake leaking but not bad ,(still 30 mpg). gonna try to get the oil rings loosened up today also.
