just wondering if this set up woudl be worthy .. well .. my friend picked up an HF motor for free with manifold .. flywhele tranny .. everything .. and i told him to chuck the 8 valve head and save the bottom end if he blows his D16a6 ( 14B turbo, 450 injectors, 2.65 downpipe, 3 inch exhaust, 1st gen DSM bov. etcc) and we're goin to pick up a free D16a6 Si head and i was thinking of slapping it onthe HF, woudl this be as strong as teh D15A2 blottom end ? i hear it has a good rod-stroke ratio etcc ..give me some insite on D seires mtors as i dont know much about them. and please dont tell us to do a motorswap cuz this is a DIY low budget project. thanks
i say yeah
go for it... it will perform good as long as u dont expect anything more than 110 hp....will be a good beater... i dont think a lot of people has done it.. i say try it. let us know how good it does.... the short stroke of the HF will be strong and nice...

when i said 110 was a fiurgure of speech
i dont think by mating the head and blick u can get that much... was just saying that u wont even make too much... it will be good temporarily

I seem to remember someone saying that this wont work because the HF pistons don't have the proper notching for a 4 valve head. Supposedly you will have valve clearance issues with this setup.
