Default 95 Integra DB8 Build

I've had my car a year now, so I thought I'd make a build thread for it. It's a 95 Integra GSR sedan. I really like the car and the progress that I've made.

Back story on the car is I traded my 96 Accord sedan that was h22 swapped for it.

The engine had a Skunk2 intake manifold, a junk header, and a no name short ram.

Car was originally tan leather but the front seats had been swapped and the rear seats were cracked.

Got some rear mud guards from the junkyard but the fronts were gone.

Traded the SI wheels for some brand new drags with brand new tires.

Replaced some broken wheel studs.

Got some Tokico HP shocks with Skunk2 springs to replace the blown shocks and cut springs.

The guy I traded with told me it smoked a little, but failed to mention that it was burning a quart of oil a week. I found out once I'd owned the car for 2 weeks and it quit going in vtec. Checked the oil and it wasn't on the stick.

So I started tearing it apart.

Figured while I had the motor out, I'd go ahead and tuck the wires and paint the bay.

Went ahead and deleted ABS while I was at it too.

What color are you going to paint the car? Or are you leaving it green?

After getting into the motor, I found broken ringlands on all four pistons.

The main bearings were shot as well.

As was the clutch.....

I put it all back together.......

Also got me a new front lip and new OEM front mud guards.

Removed the taillight tint.

Had my valve cover powdercoated wrinkle green and installed a Kidd Racing style PLM header and went back to the stock intake box.

So, the first time I rebuilt the motor, I was cheap and put in used OEM pistons with new rings but apparently the cylinder walls were worn because it was still burning oil pretty bad.

So, I ordered so RS Machine USDM p73 rep pistons 81.5mm

Had the block bored.

Ready to go.

ARP headbolts

And back together again.

I got lucky and scored a black interior for fairly cheap.

This pic was before I had a black wheel.

Scored a set of full body Omni Power coilovers and Function 7 LCA's

Slammed it down

Swapped out the subframe for a non power steering version from eg civic and removed all the stuff associated with power steering.

Very nice. When you got the arp studs! Did you have the block line honed?

Then it was time that I saved for paint. I replaced both front doors because the driver side had been reskinned and the passenger door was full of bondo. Also replaced the passenger fender because it was full of bondo. Replaced the rear bumper because it had been bumped and had a crease and cracked paint. Bought a new hood as well.

I did all the dis assembly to help with cost.

While the car was away at paint I ordered new wheels

Also scored some all red tail lights.

Also had a new windshield installed because the old one was cracked.

and WALA! Still had to get my hood from the paint shop at this point. The car was fully disassembled and all jams were painted.

Valve cover to match lol

Currently assembling a turbo set up. I have a full Greddy A/C friendly turbo kit (manifold, turbo, downpipe, BOV, intercooler, intercooler piping). Still have to get my wideband and boost gauges then it will be time to install.

Hondata s300 with PWM

Also, not pictured but I have installed a full Energy Suspension master bushing kit.

I would also like to note that I have done 100% of the work myself with the exception of the block boring and the paint job.

I love everything so far except your wheel choices. They are awful.

I hear ya. I was thinking about getting bigger wheels. You have any suggestion as to what you think would look good?

Great choice of color, and I have to agree wheel choice (by design, not brand) ruin the car. As do the lugnuts.
