B18c Type R w/ LSD Tranny Runs High RPM's in 5th Gear
Im in 5th gear and going 80mph and my rpms will be at 4800-5000K. I do have a 98 JDM B18c Spec Type R motor w/ LSD tranny in my 94 Integra LS 2DR. From what I've read my tranny has short gears but thats ridiculous. Its acting like their should be a 6th gear almost. Apparently the GSR tranny is a mixture of long and short gears and can come with LSD.
Is this truly normal? Could i use my hondata s300 to tune rpms from flying through the gears so rapidly? Or is the only fix to switch to an GSR or LS tranny. Please advise. Thanks!

No you cannot "tune" gearing ratios. It is what it is, the only way you can do that is by changing trannys, putting an LS 5th in your current tranny, or putting an LS 5th and LS final drive in your current tranny.
Didn't you already have a thread asking this same basic question?

I have a very similar tranny in my DD and I love it. If you want an easy/quicker fix to drop the rpm's you can swap the tranny using a LS/GSR. The other thing you can do is swap the final drive. This will cost you more due to parts/labor. If you are close to NC, I can help out with which ever.
