Found the problem! Yahoooo! The issue was in the large plug, distributor to wiring harness. Black wire with white tracer, coil to ICM. Unfortunately the issue was in the wiring harness side. The small tab that holds the wire connector in place in the receptacle had broken off, allowing the connector to move and lose continuity to distributor. After some deliberation as how to fix the existing connector I decided to replace the entire engine harness. Took me two hours and the problem is gone.
