I'm back. I moved the heater valve on the heater hose in one direction or the other; this allows hot air or cooler air to enter the cabin depending on the position. This has been working out quite well.

New problem: There is now a repeated clicking noise that I can hear most notably under the dashboard towards the passenger side. It goes off if the heat is off. If the heat/air is turned to full blow, you can barely if at all hear the clicking, but I imagine this is because the air/heat is so loud when it is blowing full.

What is this clicking noise and how do I get rid of it?

 

I'll guess the air mix motor is making the noise.....you'll have to get under there and narrow down what is making the noise.
