hi, i'm new here...i need a little help. i know there was a thread here about converting brake drums to disc brakes, i'm not asking about the conversion but my question is somehow related to your knowledge of disc brake compatibility...unfortunately,the thread is already closed, so i opened a new one.

i'm from the philippines, and i have a 2003 civic VTI-S, i know it's different in the US, i think it's the DX version in the US, i'm not sure. mine is 2003, has manual transmission, has ABS, 4 disc brakes, 4-door sedan. the passenger side rear brake caliper has a problem, it has been leaking brake fluid, i already had it checked, the mechanic said the leak is coming from somewhere near the hand brake lever and it cannot be fixed using a brake repair kit, told me the caliper would need to be replaced, i couldn't find one here in the philippines. my question is, which caliper would fit the rear disc brake of my car? i saw one being sold at ebay

I don't know what difference will be in your car as its in Philipines but over here in USA you could use 01 03 honda civic Si hatchback ep3 model brake caliper as it is 4 lugs and it has the same lower control arms as you'll find in 01 05 all civics. the difference between 01 03 and 04 05 is 04 05 has 5 lugs now if your car is 4lugs than you use a caliper from 01 03 US honda civic Si Hatchback Ep3 or 01 05 acura el. Canadian model Acura el also comes with rear discs so a caliper from that car will also work fine. I drive a 2001 honda civic since I am in USA I did convert the rear drum to disc and used the 02 honda civic si ep3 rear suspension. Hope this helps.

 

Not sure what similar classed Honda products are sold in the Phillipines, try looking in recycler yards on small Honda vehicles with Nissin rear calipers.

 

You can try ebay I buy most of my stuff from ebay and I am sure you'll come across something compatible to your vehicle.
